Task 3: Final Project
LIST
For the mockup map, we decided to place it at the LRT station so that people can easily understand the routes and see the conditions along the way. This allows them to make informed choices, reducing the chance of confusion or mistakes. In addition, we also marked the paths on the ground along the route, using blue and orange to clearly distinguish between the cool path and the hot path. At the starting point, we used green as a guide and labelled it with the destination, so that the public can clearly follow the coloured path from the beginning.
By providing both the visual map at the station and the colour-coded paths on the ground, we aim to make navigation simple and intuitive. People can quickly decide which route suits their preferences—whether they want a faster, less shaded path or a more comfortable, shaded path—without needing extra guidance. This approach also helps enhance the overall user experience, making it easier for both locals and visitors to navigate the area efficiently.
In addition, completing this task as a team helped me build stronger friendships with my group members. Even though we come from different courses and have different ways of thinking, we were still able to share ideas and complete each task step by step. This process made me realise how important teamwork, communication, and cooperation are in design projects.
During this task, I also faced several challenges. For example, some of our initial ideas were rejected, and later we also experienced creative blocks when working on certain parts of the project. However, these difficulties helped me grow and become more confident in developing ideas. We also learned how to combine different ideas, support each other, and continue improving our work.
Overall, this module not only helped me gain new knowledge but also helped me grow personally. I learned how to think more deeply about social and urban issues, how to work with different people, and how to present ideas more clearly through visual design.
